Raw Milk
Raw milk is more digestible, nutritious, and flavorful than store-bought milk.
Raw milk has not been processed in any way, including pasteurization and homogenization. Humans have been drinking raw milk for centuries because of its high nutrient content that supports our immune systems, gut health, skin, and so many other vital systems of our body. When cows are fed a clean, wholesome diet of high quality pasture grass and hay, they produce milk of high quality that is delicious and nutritious.
More information about the health benefits of raw milk can be found here.
In Massachusetts it is legal to sell raw milk direct to customers at our farm stand, and our facility and milk quality is inspected on a regular basis to ensure that it is clean and safe.
Want to try raw milk?
In Massachusetts, raw milk must be sold only on the farm where it is produced. We bottle and restock milk every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday between 11:30-12pm. Our fresh raw milk is in very high demand, and usually sells out within an hour after it’s restocked. Milk is on a first-come-first-served basis, we do not take reservations.

Each jug of milk is marked with a “sell by” date, which is dated for 5 days after it has been bottled. Typically, the milk will stay fresh for at least one week after the “sell by” date.
Raw milk is different than store-bought milk. It has more flavor, which for some people can take time to get used to. Once you have adjusted to the great taste of raw milk, you’ll never be able to buy milk from the store again.
Because raw milk is not homogenized, cream separates from the liquid protein and rises to the top of the glass or jug. It is completely normal to have a thin layer of cream at the top, and shaking the glass or jug for a few seconds will mix it back together. OR you can skim that cream off with a spoon and add it to your coffee or other treats.
Raw milk from Ayrshire cows is easy to digest, and will make your body feel great. If you are new to drinking raw milk, I suggest introducing it slowly into your diet in order to allow your body to adjust to the change.
Our Cows
Milk sold at our farm comes our small herd of Ayrshire cows. Ayrshires are breed of dairy cow originating in Scotland that are hardy and well adapted to the New England climate. Milk from Ayrshire cows is a bit different than that from more common cattle breeds. It is naturally homogenized, meaning that the fat and protein of the milk don’t separate easily. This makes Ayrshire milk easily digestible, even for people who’s bodies typically disagree with dairy products. Ayrshires are well suited to a grass-based diet, and their milk is excellent for making cheese and butter.
Our cows are on pasture 24 hours per day, with the exception of an hour in the morning and evening for milking time. They graze our pastures and eat hay produced on our farm. Additionally, they each receive one scoop of grain during milking time to account for all of their nutritional needs.
Our cows are raised naturally, and their milk is always free of artificial growth hormones, additives, and antibiotics.
The happy cows making today’s milk are Mariah, Krimson, Kendra, Ivy, and Eliza.
